Federal judge Victor Marrero (a Clinton appointee) has greenlighted the merger telecom giants T-Mobile US and Sprint, MK reported.
The newly formed company will enter the market as a strong competitor to the other two telecom giants, Verizon Communications and AT&T, in advanced ultrafast communication systems, especially as Dish Network, a large satellite TV broadcasting company, will join in.
Earlier, the deal was approved by the U.S. Department of Justice and Federal Communications Commission, but with certain reservations. Victor Marrero did not make his consent contingent on any reservations.
The main shareholder of T-Mobile US is Deutsche Telecom, while the largest stake in Sprint belongs to Japan's Softbank.
